Trump Hotel wedding in Doonbeg, Co. Clare, Ireland.

Christine and Otto decided to have their wedding in Trump Hotel in Doonbeg on the Wild Atlantic Way after checking out some of the best Irish venues. The bride and groom travelled to Ireland and spent a week here with their families and friends. The celebrations started in Dublin then moving on across Ireland to Cliffs of Moher and eventually to Doonbeg. Christine and Otto’s stunning Doonbeg wedding is great for inspiration if you are planning to get married at this beautiful venue.

Luxury Wedding Venue in Ireland

Trump International Doonbeg is one of Ireland’s most luxurious wedding venues providing unparalleled service to engaged couples. The venue lies on the very edge of the Atlantic Ocean on the corner of the South West coast of Ireland. It’s called the Wild Atlantic Way for a reason. In this beautiful part of the world you can have four seasons in one day, but the ocean is a truly spectacular sight.

The hotel boasts one of the best golf courses in Ireland offering spectacular views of the Atlantic, the rolling waves, the sand dunes and the huge sky. This unique location and the beautiful Irish landscape provide a stunning backdrop for your wedding photos. You can get adventurous and go for a barefoot stroll on the beach, or enjoy the view from the famous first tee, or for something quieter there is a lovely cobbled courtyard with a traditional Irish thatched roof cottage.

The wedding planning and coordination team at Doonbeg is fantastic. They can take care of every detail allowing you to relax and enjoy celebrating your wedding day. Doonbeg’s pavilion marquee offers a sophisticated venue for you and your guests to celebrate. It’s a versatile, light-filled event space which provides a blank canvas for your ideas. It looks amazing decorated with flowers and lots of candles in the evening! With full catering facilities, the marquee accommodates up to 260 people.

One of the reasons why Christine and Otto chose to have their wedding in Doonbeg, was that all of their family and friends could stay in site. The hotel boasts 183 bedrooms, meaning your wedding guests don’t have to drive to their accommodation and can truly enjoy the day. The accommodation and bedrooms are beautifully designed with antiques, reclaimed wood and carefully selected design pieces making for a cosy and memorable stay.

Doonbeg itself is a small and quaint Irish coastal village boasting great seafood restaurants and Irish pubs. So there will be plenty to entertain your wedding guests with if you are celebrating over a few days. Some of Ireland’s most popular attractions - The Cliffs of Moher, The Burren, Aillwee Cave & The Aran Islands are also located close to Trump International Doonbeg. The West of Ireland certainly has a lot to offer!

The delicious wedding menu is something else to look forward to! Food at Trump Doonbeg never disappoints. Get ready for a feast prepared with the best local ingredients Ireland has to offer! From canapes to the wedding day dinner, to the farewell BBQ, you can customise your menu to suit your taste.

The bride chose autumn blush and burgundy colours for the wedding theme and marquee decor. The French Touch floral designers did an amazing job creating lush elevated table flower arrangements, the bridal bouquet and a huge floral chandelier over the dance floor, which was a beautiful statement piece!

Doonbeg wedding ceremony

Weather permitting you can have your civil partnership or an outdoor humanist ceremony in the courtyard garden at the venue. Doonbeg Hotel also has a number of private event rooms which can be transformed for your ceremony. Christine and Otto had their ceremony at a beautiful local St. Senan’s Church in Kilrush, about 15 minutes drive from Doonbeg.

Check out a hilarious sequence of photos below which were taken outside the church. I wanted to photograph Otto with the car, when an old Irish tractor passed by. I loved the contrast between the old farm tractor and the classic red Jaguar. The groom loved the images so much he requested the sequence took up the whole spread in the couple’s wedding album! It was pouring rain when the bride arrived at the church, however at the very end the clouds parted and we were able to have the confetti outside the church entrance before the couple departed for the wedding reception at Doonbeg.
