Walled Garden Wedding In Tankardstown House
“The main aim for the day is for both of us and all of our guests to enjoy every minute of it. Both of our families are quite social and love music and fun so we are really looking forward to everyone’s world’s colliding for such a happy occasion.
In terms of décor we kept the palette and flowers very classic. The wedding is black tie for all guests. My bridesmaids are in lemon which will hopefully encourage the sun to come out! My Mom’s outfit is a stunning ivory jumpsuit/dress. Our flower girl is wearing a gorgeous Monsoon ivory dress with a bow.
Our flowers are quite minimalist with a lot of candles and single stem roses for the dinner tables and hanging from the orangerie ceiling for a bit of mirror imagery. We have two focal pieces in pillars at the top of the aisle. The rest of the décor for the ceremony is light ivory bows on the aisle seats and the Bride/Groom chairs. The bridesmaids flowers and the unity arrangement have orchids in them to pick up the lemon in the bridesmaids dresses.
For the ceremony touches I have DIY’d a custom newspaper for the bridal party the morning of and the guests on arrival. I have also DIY’d our linen welcome sign and there will be baskets of parasols and fans for the guests before the ceremony. We have confetti for the recessional (dried flower petals).
For the drinks reception my Mom and I DIY’d a backdrop for our Audio Guestbook that has a neon “I love you more” sign and frames of wedding photos from our parents and grandparents.
We have a champagne tower at the drinks reception and love the fun photos that we have seen of people doing those (we will make sure there’s some already in the bottom glasses for stability!).
For our guestbook we have ordered custom playing cards with a blank back and have asked the venue to place one under each menu and the MC will direct the guests to leave a message for us when we use them to play. The MC will also announce that anyone that has the Joker card must do a shot (we might add in some extras!).
My Dad during his speech is going to give the Russell Carroll’s each a “Cork passport” that he had made to welcome them to the family.
Our cake is a one tier vintage cake that says “Just Married” and we have ordered cupcakes too.”
